About Me

I am a Canadian singer/songwriter with a long history of employment in guitar shops. I have also been a representative for hand builders, an import agent for Asian manufacture guitars and a vintage guitar appraiser. I have also taught thousands of hours of guitar lessons to students ranging from 7 to 80 years of age.

My experience provides me with insights that can help you make better guitar selections and help you better understand what you are buying. This blog is directed at providing information in a useful, concise form with a view to helping you make better purchasing decisions.

My reason for doing this is simply that I have seen countless people start out with a cheap dreadnought guitar, then sell it and upgrade over and over again until they finally realize it makes sense to buy a decent instrument - most likely not a dreadnought. I am trying to help you cut to the chase, save yourself some money, and in the process encourage manufacturers to explore guitar shapes outside the traditional dreadnought market.
